First time long time.</p> <p>I'm working on a personal fanworks archive site, and I'd like a section to be devoted to fanmixes, with audio files (that I own locally &amp; would make available to the web server) embedded in a playlist format.</p> <p>My understanding is that base HTML has fairly robust audio embedding/playing capabilities of its own, but I want to get a sense for whether there are other tools worth looking into, whether because they make for a better music playing experience, easier administration, etc. </p> <p>I'm interested in any templates, tools, special-purpose themes for a SSG, or just plain tips &amp; tricks that might be relevant for this purpose. So I am really pleased to see a DW fan coding community pop up! I not only welcome but <em>plead for</em> input on this concept:</p> <h3>I want to build a way to create custom tags on music files.</h3> <p>You know how you can sort by artist, album, year published, and all that, because those are categories embedded in ID3 metadata? I wish ID3 metadata allowed for custom categories. I want to be able to sort my music collection by color, mood, character, and fanfiction trope, to name a few.
